Currently, I provide private piano lessons directly from House of Talent located at 714 N. Germantown Pkwy. #1 (Trinity Commons) in Memphis, TN. Visit the House of Talent website for more details on location.
As of right now, I offer 30-minute lessons and 1-hour lessons. For accelerated results, I encourage the hour lesson as it provides adequate time to cover material, review from previous lessons, and allows more time for the mind to focus on concepts being presented. Generally, there has been more success from working in longer time intervals, but ultimately the decision is yours and both equally benefit the student.
All ages! I have taught piano to students from ages 5 to 50.
I always say, "You're never too young to learn music." With music, the earlier the better. When it comes to the piano, I typically provide lessons to students 5 years of age and older. My goal as a teacher is to do what is in the best interest of the student, and the parents as well. Piano lessons are an investment, so the instruction taking place needs to be a worthwhile scenario.
Not at all! I have taught students from beginner to professional level and everything in between.
No problem. Typically if you have studied piano before, I will run through a few exercises during our first FREE Intro Lesson to evaluate your knowledge and abilities and start you right where you left off!
I understand that not everyone wants to be a Classical pianist. I have taught several that have aspired to be singer/songwriters and keyboard players in bands. Your lessons can be accommodated to any specific direction you wish to take your piano-playing venture. However, you will build your skills using proper technique from Classical traditions.
I strongly urge students not to miss any lessons as their personal progress will suffer. I completely understand that at times circumstances will prevent you from being able to come. However, because I've set aside time for you regardless as to whether you are present or not, it is my policy not to offer make up lessons, refunds, or credits. In extreme cases, I will generally allow make-up lessons at specific times.
